Selling an IT business is much like selling any business. But not like selling something on eBay. Selling a business requires some negotiation and finesse in order for both parties to make the most out of the deal.
Selling an IT business is a social process of getting to know a client, their terms and conditions, what they are looking for in the business and how that measures up to what you are offering. It can be a lengthy process of explaining and determining just what is on offer.
But don’t let that deter you from the important negotiation that is required. While going through this process it is inevitable that you will get to know the buyer and they will get to know you. So putting your best foot forward first, as well as being honest is going to get you much further.
